About Us
Southwick Community Episcopal Church was founded in 2005 with support from The Episcopal Diocese of Western Massachusetts. Since then, we've grown in many ways, and through God's grace, help and direction, we've touched the lives of many people. While our growth has been terrific, we're not done yet. We hope you'll join us as we continue to reach for the goals of our mission, and help people connect with God and with others in meaningful relationships. That's what we're all about; that's why we're different.
A Different Kind of Church
So what's different about Southwick Community Episcopal Church? We think nothing could be more exciting or more important than experiencing a relationship to God in a personal way. And not just on Sunday morning. We expect to hear from God. We believe each one of us can, and we are learning to listen. Hearing from God directly is not just for the priest and leadership, it is for each of us. We thank God that our leadership makes listening to God a priority, but our desire is for each member of the church to have a close relationship with Him, and hear from Him directly.
People give up on church for lots of reasons. Many times, it's because what they're looking for isn't "going to church" at all, but something deeper: a close connection to God that really touches our lives.
The number one purpose of Southwick Community Episcopal Church is to help people to make and deepen that connection.
We do this through talking to God (we have seen many miracles happen), and through listening to God. We listen to God by understanding His Word, hearing Holy Spirit inspired sermons, and learning to be quiet to listen to His voice. He speaks to us today, if we listen.
