The People's Choice Award - Award decided based on voting by all attendees.
Holy Smokes! - Award for Hot & Spicy Chili.
Best Judged Chili - Award decided by a panel of judges who are selected in advance.
Guns & Hoses - Award for best police/fire department entry.
Bring a crockpot of prepared chili to Southwick Community Episcopal Church by 3:30 on September 25.
All chili must be precooked and placed in a crockpot. It must be brought to the church hot and ready to serve and must be heated to a temperature in excess of 140 degrees upon arrival at the church.
Please bring an extension cord with your crockpot.
Electricity will be provided for each crockpot during the event in order to maintain a steady temperature.
Non Latex Food Service Gloves will be provided to each contestant and required for serving.
All Serving Utensils will be provided by the church and will be sanitized ahead of the contest.
We will provide disposable tasting cups and spoons to all.
All contestants are required to utilize the hand washing station prior to serving food to our guests.
All individuals bringing a crockpot of chili to share must practice food safety and good hygiene. For information on food preparation visit https://www.foodsafety.gov<http://safety.gov>
We reserve the right to remove any chili from the contest if it arrives at our facility outside of the safe food temperature of 140+.
